German born artist Hilmar Meyer-Bosse began his career as a photographer in his home town of Hamburg. Shortly thereafter he moved to New York and started working in 1983 for Bill King, one of the top fashion photographers at that time. For a while he traveled on a monthly basis between New York and Paris. Art had a big influence on photography, as photography had on art. Living in Soho surrounded by galleries and studios, Hilmar continued to paint as he did in his days in Hamburg. In 1985 he opened his own studio in New York and photographed successfully fashion and beauty for many years. After a long career as a photographer, Hilmar built an artist studio in his barn in Westport,CT where he is now painting.
